HOW TO INSTALL A FISH FINDER IN PROFISH 440

1.

Using cable cover mark out screw holes at the rear of soft bait well, mark a dot between the

screw marks this will be your indicator mark for the 22mm hole.

 

2.

Using the same method mark and drill 22mm hole on rear facing edge of 

front Rod holder mounting points.

Using cable cover mark out screw marks at the top left of hatch at the front of centre well.

Put a mark in between the two screw marks this will be the indicator mark for a 4mm hole

(note: hole size does depend on model so double check the bare wire end of battery

cable fits through hole it should be a tight fit)

 

 

5.

Attach transducer to the mount bracket with machine screw and nyloc nut.

run cable through groove in plastic disc.

Run cable from the bottom through large scupper hole

The transducer should sit in reccess nice and level

While holding the cable push disc with foam stuck to it, over the bolt foam 

side down push it down as far as it can go making sure it is level, double check 

under kayak that the transducer hasnt moved and is still level.

Attach the plug end of the cable to a long bit of wire or nylon.

run it through the hole in the softbait well in to the cavity of the kayak.

Run it through and out the hole cutt at the base of front rod holder position.

Makes sure you pull enough through to reach the sounder unit and allow a bit more 

length so you can still remove centre cover with sounder cable attached.

Run bare end of cable through 4mm hole you drilled earlier pull this through enough so

can solder terminals onto the end.

Push shrink tube onto end of terminal then put a small amount of sealent at the base of terminal

then slide tube right over terminal.

Lightly heat shrink tube and clean off excess sealant

bundle up excess cable and tuck away inside the kayak through hatch in centre well

Using sealant seal around bolt in tranducer scupper, be sure to seal between where

cable runs up the kayak and the kayak itself first

Put large plastic disc over top of sealed area. Fasten using a washer and M5 nyloc nut making sure 

to hold transducer underneath in place while tightening nut.

Seal around hole in rear of soft bait well, make sure to get sealant under where cable hits the edge of the hole

Fill cable cover with sealent

Screw in cable cover

Repeat steps 22-24 at the point where the cable exits the kayak at the base of front 

rod holder position. Makesure to get sealent between the two cables and underneath.

Install cable cover where battery cable comes through to centre well.

Install Battery straps and battery as seen in "install fish finder in Profish 400" as it is the same as in the 440.

Mount sounder unit on bait board front and centre

30.

Before powering up fishfinder ensure to have fuse pluged in.
